The Impact of Technology on Behavior & Happiness

The scientific evidence connected to technology’s relentless encroachment into daily life is irrefutable. It is not particularly encouraging.

With more portals into the mind than ever before—computers, tablets, phones, apps, texts, emails, messaging, social media, and more—heads are changing from fortified, protected castles into loud and crowded open bars.

And when heads change, behaviors change.

We are doing more of some things…and less of others.

Some of these negative behavioral changes are ominous:

  • Anxiety, frustration, and digital addiction are skyrocketing.
  • Happiness is declining, as are attention spans, patience, and coping skills.
  • Fatigue, stress, negativity, and frustration are up.
  • As is emotional vulnerability to social media, cyber-bullies, and criminals.

These, and dozens more, are caused by specific, interlocking reasons.

But once we understand what’s going on—why we feel and act the way we do—we no longer have to feel like we’re living like an ambulance trying to parallel park. Or that every morning we wake exhausted, anticipating yesterday’s leftover mess of our mind’s open bar.

After all, just because someone, or some thing, has access to your mind does not mean that he, she, or it has the right to be there.

Which begs the question: “If you don’t look out for you, who will?”

The answer, of course, is, “Nobody!”

Learn to protect your cranial castle. As well as those you care about.

To schedule a learning session, and workshop a complete understanding of how technology is changing your life and influencing your happiness, give us a call or drop us a note. Life gets easier as soon as you learn.
